World Book Day is this Thursday 1/3/2018 and the theme is Share a Story.
There is so much evidence to confirm that reading with your child for just 10 minutes a day can make a big difference. The aim of World Book Day is to get the nation sharing stories.
Anyone can share a story from parents and carers to older children and of course grandparents too.
Stories can be shared anywhere, including at home on the sofa, or even on the bus. And this can be done at any time between breakfast times to bed time.
Children love listening to stories and love looking at pictures in books and magazines too. Sharing stories is a great opportunity to spend quality time with children and it promotes good feelings and wellbeing.
Anyone confident enough to come into school and share a story with a class please contact the school and we will be delighted to arrange this.
In the meantime there are so many ideas linked to reading on the World Book Day Website, Worldbookday.com, including short reads and books for just £1. Do have a look it’s a fantastic resource and keep an eye open for posters around school promoting the campaign.
We’d love to hear from you if you try anything off the website, so keep us posted by class dojo.
