Three weeks into the new academic year and the school is a hive of activity.
Thank you to all who have attended the 'meet the teacher' meetings. We have been really impressed by the turnout over the last two weeks. We hope you have found these meetings useful and you have now been able to see where your children are working and meet the staff who will be supporting them over the coming year.
All the children should have now completed their first piece of homework off our new homework menu and I have seen some fantastic pieces of work across the school. It has been lovely to see the variety of work produced where the children have been able to use their creativity and imagination. We have had lots of positive comments about this new style homework, as well as some thoughts on how we can improve it even further. We will be reviewing the system fully over the next few months, so really appreciate your feedback.
The first newsletter of the year should have reached you from the 'Friends of Butterstile'. This newsletter contains lots of dates for the coming year, including the first meeting which is next Tuesday after school. It would be great to see you there, so that we can plan and arrange lots of fundraising ideas to help us to improve the playgrounds for our children.
There have been lots of exciting events in our classrooms this week including a visit from Manchester City, who delivered sessions on disability awareness for some of the children in Year 6. We also celebrated individual success with Damini in Year 6 being awarded 2nd place in a national Harry Potter competition. Well done Damini.
I'm sure next week will see more excitement, especially in Mr.Johnson's class, with the start of the Year 4 daily swimming lessons.
Have a lovely weekend.
