It's hard to believe that I am writing this with just one week to go before half term break. September and October have really flown by. The children have worked extremely hard in their new classes, getting to know their new teachers and the challenges of the new work they face as they have moved up a year. With parents evening next week I am sure you are eager to find out for yourselves just how your children have settled.
I would like to say a big thank you to our business manager Lisa Griffiths, you may not know her name but she has been working tirelessly over the Summer to arrange lots of work in and around the school building including the fabulous new play equipment for the children on the top and bottom yards. I know from being outside at playtimes and lunchtimes that the children are very pleased to have this new equipment and very much enjoy using it.
As the nights draw in it is important to remind children to take extra care on their way to and from school. Bury's road safety team will be visiting some year groups over the coming weeks starting with year 3 to talk about staying safe. The fire brigade have also been in to talk about keeping safe with the year 6 children as we approach the bonfire season. As drivers too it is important that we adults are extra vigilant at this time of year, especially when driving around schools, as it gets darker in the mornings and evenings. Take a look at the Royal society for Prevention of Accidents website https://www.rospa.com for more information.
Also a big thank you to all those parents who responded to our PTA questionnaire we are in the processes of collating suggestions and will be getting back to you very soon.
One more thing, work is well underway in preparation for our brand new event: - The Pumpkin Party on 31st October. More information will be sent out soon, children will be able to come in their own clothes to school or dress up and join in the fun. Hopefully this will become a regular feature on the school calendar.
Thank you all for your continued support and have a good weekend.
